It Don’t Get Much Bigger Than This
We had all watched this girl become one of the biggest stars on the planet. yup…we’ve all heard the story so when I got the call to do some session work for a couple of her albums over the last 15 years or so I was thrilled. Then some years later I got the chance to play in the band put together by Scott Price for the CELINE SUR LES PLAINES on the PLAINS OF ABRAHAM in QUEBEC CITY on August 22, 2008 and it was huge. I was again thrilled. On August 8, 2013 I was the band leader for Jean Marc Couture when we opened for CELINE again on the PLAINS OF ABRAHAM.
Fast forward to March 2019. I get a call from Scott Price who had been hired as bandleader for the CELINE DION BAND in 2014 asking if I would like to play in her band for the upcoming world tour. I readily accepted. In May of that same year I was in LAS VEGAS, NV for a month of rehearsals at CEASARS PALACE. I was now a member of the CELINE DION BAND playing acoustic & electric guitar, cittern, penny whistle and vocals. This was beyond thrilling. The best way to describe it is to think back to the early days of dreaming what it would be like to be a rock star…would we have a tour bus? Would we fly in planes? Would we stay in fancy hotels? Would we play packed stadiums? Would we travel the world? What would it feel like? The answer is it feels exactly like THIS!
I have to say a heartfelt thank you to Scott Price. Since we first met we became fast friends. He has been hiring me and including me in so many musical projects over the years right up to this! Scott is another person who has had a profound effect on my life.
