The Buzz Band

Around the mid 90’s John McGale, always the industrious one put together a project called THE BUZZ BAND. It was originally a trio with Jerry Mercer of APRIL WINE on DRUMS, Breen Leboeuf of OFFENBACH on BASS and VOCALS and John McGale also of OFFENBACH on GUITAR and VOCALS. They released an album of John’s compositions and toured some. I played a guest appearance on that album and occasionally sat in with the band when our paths would cross. John wanted to get a bigger sound and take some of the guitar load off his shoulders and added me to the band. It was a thrill to play in this band and we now had three lead singers in front and the band often sang in four part harmony. Breen eventually left the band to pursue his solo career and he was replaced by Shawn Hill (who later legally changed his name to Nathan Aswell) on BASS and VOCALS.
